Descrizione
Il corpo è compresso e di colore scuro, raggiunge una lunghezza massima di 12 cm.
Diffusione
È distribuito lungo la costa orientale dell'Oceano Pacifico , da Panama a Valparaíso (Cile). È un pesce batipelagico che vive sedentario attaccato al substrato a grande profondità.
